The Department of Anaesthesia at GMC Krishnagiri provides excellent patient care, good education for medical students and residents, with great infrastructure as per NMC Norms. Each year, the department provides services for around 12,000 major and 20,000 procedures with 18 operating rooms with covering Obstetrics, Gynecology,Orthopedics, Plastic surgery, General Surgery, Urology, Dental, ENT & Ophthalmology. We currently do average of 25 emergency cases per day.
We have team of consultantswho provide anaesthetic care for all specialties’ 24*7 servicesin two different locationsObstetrics and Gynecology (CEMONC unit) located in Old GH Krishnagiri town and in TAEI IncludesOrthopedics’,Oro dental surgery,Surgery,ENT, Ophthalmology), Trauma Surgery and airway procedures.
Our institute is anOrgan retrieval centre andOur teamfull-fledgedly runs Organ retrieval task.
The department has para medical course Diploma course for 1year certificate course. We engage in providing in Basic Life Support and Advanced Trauma Life Support training for graduate medical students,DRP postgraduate students, nurses and para medical personnel in the institute and hospitals of the district. We along with skill lab do various workshop for undergraduates and para medics.
The department controls the oxygen supplyof the hospitals in two different locations

All undergraduate medical students & paramedical students are periodically taken classes in lecture class, skill lab, practical demonstration hall and bedside. We conduct Basic life support training programme for staff, workers, paramedics and supporting staff.
We conduct ACLS& Airway Management workshop hands -on training to Staff nurses,CRRI& PGS. We have conducted 16 sessions successfully to our staffs.

The Pain Management centre at Government Medical College, Krishnagiricomprises of Clinic, Ward and OT service under the Department of Anaesthesiology, established to evaluate and manage patients suffering from acute, chronic and complex pain conditions.
